Soracom Air Errors

Soracom Air stores error logs for the last 14 days that can be viewed from the User Console or API. These errors can be used for debugging when troubleshooting issues with your deployment.

The following error messages can be found in the error logs:

Error Message Explanation Troubleshooting
  • unable to deliver short message: absent subscriber sm, message-id: {message ID}
  • unable to deliver short message: unexpected user error: {error_code}, message-id: {message}
SMS messages are not reaching the device.

SMS messages are sent when utilizing the following features:
There are various possible causes for this error:
  • The device does not have SMS functionality.
  • The device does not have sufficient signal strength for SMS delivery.
  • The device is not currently registered on the cellular network.
If SMS messages are unable to be delivered they will be retried following the behavior outlined in SMS Failure.
Subscriber {IMSI} is not allowed to create session: Device IMEI {IMEI} does not match configured IMEI {IMEI} A SIM with IMEI Lock enabled is attempting to connect to the network using a device whose IMEI does not match the one registered with the IMEI Lock configuration. Ensure that the locked IMEI is configured appropriately for the device the SIM is being used in, or disable IMEI Lock for this SIM
